Curriculum

The Business Department at Fairbury High School offers a variety of courses to prepare students for the workforce.  Two full-time business teachers work with students in IBM Windows labs running Office XP.  All students take Computer Applications I to meet graduation requirements.

    Courses offered through the Business Department are:

Accounting I (TP) Computer Applications I
Accounting II (TP) (DC) Computer Applications II (TP) (DC)
Business Communications (TP) Introduction to Business (TP)
Entrepreneurship (TP) (DC) 7th Grade Keyboarding
8th Grade Computer Applications
TP  Tech Prep Course.  Completion of this course meeting specified requirements satisfies complementing curriculum at Southeast Community College.

DC  Dual college credit is available through Peru State College.  The high school textbook is used.  Dual credit tuition is 50 percent of normal PSC tuition rate.  Qualifying students must be a Junior or Senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  FHS is proud to offer the following courses for dual college credit:
s Accounting II
s Entrepreneurship (odd graduation years)
s Computer Applications II (even graduation years)

50-member strong chapter of Future Business Leaders of America.
