DAY THREE and FOUR

Creating a List of Brainstorming/Supporting Questions and Keywords.

In the classroom:
Your research team will brainstorm a list of questions, a cluster diagram or keywords that will help you rank the sites. What do you need to know? What do you need to find out in order to begin your investigation?

Research in the Media Center

Each team member  will be collecting information in the media center.  Resources that you will be using are:

    Encyclopedias

    Databases for magazine articles and newspaper articles

    Books

DAY FOUR

Today we will be surfing the Internet. As you surf the Internet, remember to keep the following critereia for evaluating webpages in your mind.

DAY FIVE AND SIX

Step 1:

The time has now come to evaluate all of your collected information, in order to rank and select your final site. Considering both the likelihood of an eruption, and the type of volcanic eruption that could occur, rank the three sites from most safe (1) to least safe (3).

This information will need to be presented to the class, and should include:
        1) an introduction of team members
        2) rankings and justifications of the sites
        3) visuals, including maps and pictures.

Each team member must participate in the presentation.

Step 2:

Make a storyboard of the PowerPoint.  The PowerPoint must be approved by your teacher or the media specialist before working on the computer.

DAY SEVEN

Paper Mache the volcano.

   DAY EIGHT

Hooray!  You should be ready to put together the PowerPoint!!!

Finish the Volcanoes

DAY NINE

Share and show what you have learned and erupt the volcanoes!!!!!
