Birthday Poetry

Birthday
(Old MacDonald)

1st name   last name  has a birthday.
Hip, hip, hooray!
And on her cake, she has _ candles.
What a happy day!
With a puff puff here
And a puff puff there,
Here a puff
There a puff
Everywhere a puff puff
1st name last name  has a birthday.
Hip, hip, hooray!

Spider Birthday Cake

The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the birthday cake,
he ate up all the frosting,
and got a tummy ache,
and when they brought the ice cream,
he ate even more,
and the itsy bitsy spider fell sick upon the floor.
They took him to the doctor because he felt so bad,
it was the worst tummy ache that he ever had,
and when they brought the medicine it was WAY TOO SWEET,
just a drink of water would be a great big treat,so the itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout,
down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout
again

The Birthday Child

Everything's been different,
All the day long.
Lovely things have happened,
Nothing has gone wrong.
Nobody had scolded me,
Everyone has smiled.
Isn't it delicious
To be a birthday child?

The Wish

Each birthday wish
I've ever made
Really does come true
Each year I wish
I'll grow some more
And every year
I do!

The Birthday Cake

Today is _______'s birthday
Let's make him/her a cake.
Mix and stir, stir and mix
Then into the oven to bake.

Here's the cake so nice and round,
We ice it pink/blue and white.
We put ___ candles on it
To make the birthday bright.
Happy Birthday_____.

Birthday
(Did You Ever See a Lassie)

Hooray, it’s your birthday,
Your birthday, your birthday.
Hooray, it’s your birthday,
We’re glad that you were born.
And we’ll play on the guitar.
Then we’ll blow upon the horn.
Hooray, it’s your birthday,
We’re glad that you were born.

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
How old are you today?

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
All the girls can stay

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
Turn and shake away

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
Let’s jump around and play

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
You need a holiday

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
Wish you well each and everyday

When I was one I had just begun.
When I was two I was nearly new.
When I was three I was hardly me.
When I was four I was not much more.
When I was five I was just alive.
But now I am six I'm as clever as clever,
I think I'll stay six Forever and ever.
A. A. Milne
