Autumn

Fluttering and falling
All around me
Light as feathers, the
Leaves of autumn

A Little Elf

A little elf
Sat in a tree
Painting leaves
To throw at me.

Leaves of yellow
And leaves of red
Came tumbling down
About my head.

Apple Poem

An apple for the teacher
Is really nothing new,
Except when you remember
Parents are teachers, too!

Down! Down!

Down, down!
Yellow and brown
The leaves are falling
Over the town.

Fall Leaves

I like the leaves in fall,
I like their colors bright.
Gold and orange, yellow, red-
What a splendid sight!

I like the leaves in fall,
The way they crunch beneath my feet,
Then whisper ‘round the driveway
And scatter down the street.

I Love Fall

I love fall! Fall is exciting.
It's apples and cider.
It's an airborne spider.
It's pumpkins in bins.
It's burrs on dog's chins.
It's wind blowing leaves.
It's chilly red knees.
It's nuts on the ground.
It's a crisp dry sound.
It's green leaves turning
And the smell of them burning.
It's clouds in the sky.
It's fall. That's why...
I love fall.

I’m a Little Sunflower

I’m a little sunflower,
I’m so small.
Soil, sun, and water
Make me tall.

When I get all grown-up,
You will see
I’m as big as I can be!

Leaves Around The Year

In spring the leaves
Are clean and bright.

They green and grow
In summer’s light.

In fall they turn
To red and gold.

Then curl up brown
In winter’s cold.

Leaves Changing

Red, yellow, orange, brown
The leaves rest and die
The wind blows them into the ground
The winter wind flies by.

Listen

Listen... what can you hear?
I can hear the bugs beating
the birds in the trees
The sound of green nature
and buzzing of bees

Look... what can you see?
I can see the big oak tree
the leaves in the lake
the sun going down
AND A VENOMOUS SNAKE!!

September

A road like brown ribbon
A sky that is blue
A forest of green
With that sky peeping through.
Asters, deep purple,
A grasshopper's call,
Today it is summer,
Tomorrow is fall.

The Leaves are Falling Down
(to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell")

The leaves are falling down
The leaves are falling down
School is here and fall in near
The leaves are falling down.

The leaves are falling down
The leaves are falling down
Some are red and some are brown
The leaves are falling down.

The leaves are falling down
The leaves are falling down
They tickle your nose and touch your toes
The leaves are falling down.

The Leaves of the Trees
("The Wheels on the Bus")

The leaves of the trees turn orange and red
orange and red, orange and red
The leaves of the trees turn orange and red
All through the town.

The leaves of the trees come tumbling down
tumbling down, tumbling down
The leaves of the trees come tumbling down
All through the town.

The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish
Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish,
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish
All through the town.

Good-Bye, Fall!

Leaves in many colors,
Falling all around!
Whirling, twirling gently,
Drifting to the ground.
If only they could speak,
Here's what they would say-
"It's going to get colder.
Winter's on the way.

In the Field
(I'm a Little Teapot)

I'm a silly scarecrow on a post.
Guarding corn is what I like the most.
When the crows come flying, hear me cry,
"Shoo!  Go away! Don't even try!"
~Elizabeth Schechter

Harvest Time
(The Wheels on the Bus)

The apples on the tree are round and red,
Round and red, round and red.
The apples on the tree are round and red.
It's harvest time!

The pumpkins in the field are big and orange,
Big and orange, big and orange.
The pumpkins in the field are big and orange,
It's harvest time!
~Julie Granchelli
