Hello!!
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am a devoted mother and wife who is very dedicated to family and friends. My husband's name is Chad. We have three children, Josi (6), Jami (5), and Jerik (4 months). Family is the most important aspect of my life. We live in Fairbury, NE where I am the Media Specialist and a Technology Assistant at Fairbury Jr.-Sr. High School. I am also the head varsity girls track coach and National Honor Society sponsor.
I am originally from Fairbury, Nebraska. After high school, I attended college at Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Southeast Community College in Beatrice, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; ultimately earning a BS Degree in Business Education. After my college graduation, I worked in an insurance office for six months before taking two long-term substitute positions, one at Yutan Public High School and one at Fairbury Jr.-Sr. High School. I also substituted at many other high schools and elementary schools near the Fairbury area.
In July of 1996, I received my first full time teaching position at Red Cloud Community Schools as the K-12 Media Specialist, photography instructor, head volleyball coach, and assistant girls basketball coach. In August 1997, I took a job as the Meida Specialist and assistant Technology Coordinator at Adams Central High School. I worked at Adams Central for 2 years. In order to work closer to my family, I took a job at Blue Hill Community Schools in August of 2000 and worked there for 5 years. In 2001, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology. I am currently teaching and coaching in Fairbury were my family and I have lived for the three years. I will also complete my second Masters Degree in Educational Administration in May.
I believe that in today's educational system, learning and technology go hand in hand. Technology can both enhance and energize the learning process for students and instructors alike.
